Life in Exurbia
My pendulum has swung back to life on the home front and things have actually gotten too ugly and I am too dispirited about politics. But as is the nature of life, that means that interesting things are afoot in the old personal life as I go through a growth spurt.

It's a cynical truism.
But I think blogs are kind of like a diary. They are a place to express ideas that need more definition than we can accomplish in our own heads or vocal conversation.
Also, unlike diaries, we get to share these thoughts with others. Granted, not a lot of people read them or comment on them, but I think it's an impulse people have to be more communal in this increasingly isolated world.
